- Scenes from Nickelsville at Discovery Park & Magnolia Voice

Nickelsville has moved to land leased by the United Indians of All Tribes, believing that the land was leased directly from the federal government. The situation turns out to be more complicated: the feds deeded to the land to the city on the condition that the city lease 20 acres of it to the UIATF; the lease agreement with the city requires the UIATF to abide by city land use codes. The situation is still fluid: the City once claimed that Tent City 3 was in violation of land use codes, and was over-ruled in court. If the UIATF decides to apply for a permit to host Nickelsville, it just might get it.

Nickelsville has moved to tribal land! 75 tents are now up in Discovery Park, beside Daybreak Star Cultural Center on land that belongs to the United Indians of All Tribes.
Nickels was threatening to fine the state $150 a day for violation of land use codes if they allowed us to stay any longer on state land. Now that we are on Indian land, will he threaten the United Indians of All Tribes, or the federal government? Stay tuned...

- When I lie, I am exercising free speech. I must be allowed to say whatever I please.
- When you call me a liar, you are suppressing free speech. You must not be allowed to say that.
Facts do exist, and facts can be researched and determined, regardless of prior belief or political alliance. When there are conflicting claims of fact, we demand evidence of all claimants. Claims that stand up to challenge gain credibility. Claims that cry "Foul! You are suppressing me!" when required to present evidence lose credibility.
According to Governor Blunt, making up scandals about other people isn't intimidation, and lying to voters isn't undermining democracy. I'm sure that encouraging "good Christians" to try to get movies shut down, books banned, teachers fired, or school curriculums rewritten isn't an attack on free speech, either. The conservative deluge that got the Reagan documentary cancelled was not an attack on free speech. But encouraging people to write in en masse and counter lies with facts? THAT is attacking free speech!
"The conscience of a conservative" used to mean something. The conscience of these who call themselves conservatives is totally corrupt.
